In addition to her work at the hospital, Cindy has been operating a private practice since 2003. In her private practice, Cindy provides treatment to individuals and couples. She specializes in stress and stress related disorders. Stress develops out of many sources: life long habits and circumstances, trauma, loss and sudden changes to health, relationships, and personal and work environments. Stress can lead to feelings of being overwhelmed and hopelessness, as well as physical and emotional symptoms, often resulting in unhealthy coping mechanisms such as addictions. Cindy focuses on helping her clients gain awareness of what isn’t working in their lives and then works with her clients to have them learn skills and strategies to help them achieve change and to return to a life of balanced self-care.
Personal Statement
Life is filled with many challenges. We all use coping mechanisms that appear to make sense for that situation. Sometimes these coping mechanisms stop working or cause us some other difficulties when they are used for longer periods of time. My goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment in which we can work together to develop skills and strategies that lead to change that can be maintained over the long-term.
